    • Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum

      Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is the largest dinosaur museum in Japan, displaying dinosaur-related materials.
      In the vast exhibition room of 4,500 m2 inside the silver dome, you can see 40 dinosaur skeletons, hundreds of specimens, large restored diorama and images.
      About 40 minutes by car.

    • Soto Song Daihonzan Eiheiji Temple

      A training center for monks and Zen monks founded by Zen Master Dogen Dogen in Kangen era 2.
      The temple grounds, which cover an area of approximately 330,000 square meters, are a tranquil sacred space surrounded by lush old cedar trees said to be about 700 years old, and are lined with over 70 Shichido Garan, including seven temple buildings.
      About 25 minutes by car.
    • Tojinbo Cliffs

      The view from Tojinbo Cliffs, which is famous as Japan's only bizarre victory, is truly spectacular.
      You can climb Tojinbo Tower for a panoramic view all the way to Noto Peninsula, take a sightseeing boat and enjoy the sheer cliffs, or enjoy the traditional souvenir shops and restaurants in the area.

    • Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins

      The ruins of the Asakura Family, Ichijodani Castle feudal lord who ruled Echizen Province during Sengoku Period, centered on Ichijodani Castle.
      The entire ruins (covering an area of 278 hectares) are designated as a special national historic site, and four of the Japanese gardens (Asakura Family Site Garden, Yudono Ruins Garden, Suwa Residence Ruins Garden, and Nanyo-ji Temple Ruins Garden) are designated as special national scenic spots under the name Ichijodani Asakura Clan Garden.
    • Hataya Memorial Hall Yumeole Katsuyama

      This is a preserved and utilized building that was operating as a medium-sized machine factory in Katsuyama from 1905 to 1998.
      You can enjoy the immersive exhibition that makes use of the "Hataya" building, the eyebrows craft and hand-woven experience, and the cafe corner of delicious sweets.

    • Senko no Ie

      Built in the early Edo Period,The oldest private house in the prefecture.
      At that time, it was a magnificent stance, and you can learn about the lifestyle of the medieval region.
    • Maruoka Castle

      The castle was built in 1915 by Katsutoyo, the nephew of Katsuie Shibata.
      The oldest existing castle tower in Japan.
      A distinctive feature of the building is that all of the roof tiles are made from Shakudani Stone.

    • Ippitsu Keijo Plaque

      A letter from Ieyasu Tokugawa's loyal retainer, Honda Sakuzaemon Shigetsugu, addressed to his family from the battlefield.
      A letter plaque reading, "Ippitsu Keijo take care of the fire. Don't make Osen cry. Fatten your horses."
      The Ippitsu Keijo Award is held every year.
